Tsk…Tsk

Today is June 17th 2009, the day all Apple Cult lovers sat at their computers awaiting the very much talked about iPhone OS 3.0. It was the first time doing an Apple upgrade so it was rather exciting, but a little secret the wait was excruciating as I was awaiting the copy and paste, the Bluetooth and the landscape keyboard. I still shake my head at those iPhone owners who think that they have the IT when it is still in beta mode. Next year they still have to add more features, so I think I will wait two more years before buying an iPhone.

Anyways let us move on to the iPod touch and what I have  seen with the upgrade. First and foremost Bluetooth! I am one of the unfortunate ones who have the tiny ear canal that cannot take much pressure. My only option is to use a Bluetooth stereo headset, which is a great alternative for people like me. The first thing I played with after the install was my Bluetooth settings.

It was quite easy to setup and very straight forward, no pin code to enter and it connects immediately after recognition.

Next thing I played with was the landscape keyboard which is a major improvement and its is more comfortable on the typing too.  IMG_0009

The other thing is the much needed and very important copy and paste option! *cough* It is a little more lets say too much than a WinMo option but I am loving it having more control over the selection, which is rather lovely.

Oh no do not let me forget to mention the spotlight! I have so many apps all of which I use that I am getting tired of flicking through the pages to find the one I need. So the spotlight is rather a handy option to search your iPod or iPhone for the app or  contact that you need.

Last but not least the other new feature I tried was the MobileMe. Find my iPod and remote wipe. Really awesome feature and I know some iPhone users will be happy with that. Since there is a lot you could avoid when having that option.

I even sent a message to my iPod haha here goes:

So that’s it for now on the update. Same ole things just a few minor features. I will play with it some more in the coming days. In my next post I hope to show you some applications that could come in handy :) .

Nice post you highlighted the new major points of the upgrade. More importantly, where do you grocery shop? I want to be able to spend $99 a month rather than $150 a week.
    thanks!
